# Times Table Boost! + Hands-on Forensic Science

How many students and parents suffer over times tables?  School year after school year, summer after summer.... you just need to learn them!

Let's take a few days to do it.  Students will leave class with a start on times tables,  and with computer programs, flashcards, and worksheets to use for the rest of the summer.

We spend every morning, all week, working on times tables. We do timed worksheets, times table relays, multiplication fact battles, and even some tests.  It's all times tables, all morning.  And many students who have taken this camp over the past two years have found that they were the only ones in their classes who knew their times tables starting on the first day of school!

But, of course, kids cannot live by times tables alone.  So, after lunch, we will explore forensic science!  Apparently, there's been a murder at EdBoost!  Students will employ a range of forensic science techniques (including fingerprint collection and analysis, blood sample collection and analysis, fiber collection and analysis, projectile trajectory analysis) and build and study a case history in order to solve the murder mystery by the end of the week.  Will our amateur investigators make the streets of Palms safe again?

You won't believe it -- but one of our third graders actually told us that times tables camp was her favorite summer camp (and she went to a lot of fun summer camps!).  We work hard to make this a hugely productive, but also really fun camp.  And, this, our first foray into forensics, should be extremely interesting!
