Cynthia Feliciano

Cynthia Feliciano earned her B.A. in political science and sociology, magna cum laude, from Boston University and her Ph.D. in sociology from UCLA. Cynthia is currently an assistant professor of sociology at UC Irvine. Cynthia's research has been supported by a number of prestigious grants including dissertation fellowships from the Ford Foundation, the Russell Sage Foundation, and UCLA's Graduate Division and a UC President's Postdoctoral fellowship. At UCLA Cynthia worked as a teaching assistant for undergraduate students in both the sociology department and in the department of women's studies. She also volunteered in a tutoring program for youth on early release from lock-up and at an elementary school. Cynthia has published several articles and book chapters on Asian and Latino immigrants, immigrant culture, and education.
