This picture book takes a historical look into the diverse groups of people who have immigrated to America.  The beginning of the book starts with the Native Americans, who first called America their home, and goes on to describe the millions of other people who have come ever since.  With the help of vivid illustrations, the book touches on some of the reasons why people had to leave their homelands. However, no matter what brought them to America, we learn that each person brought the gift of diversity. Whether they brought their stories and culture, their art and music, or their determination and grit- no matter what it may be- it has helped shape the country that we call home.
