Get ahead for ISEE and SAT!  We'll cram as much test prep as we can in a week:

ISEE Preparation

What to get a jump on ISEE Preparation this summer?  This weeklong camp will cover all aspects of the ISEE: from essay writing, to vocabulary, to reading comprehension, to math.  We will test students on math basics (and give them practice work to fill in gaps) and spend a lot of time on word problem tricks and strategies.  We will write practice essays and learn and practice tips and strategies for every part of the ISEE.  The new ISEE is more advanced than ever!    Cut down on one-on-one tutoring time by building a lot of basics skills in one week!  Class will be both serious (lots of practice) and fun (vocabulary wars and accuracy competitions).  We will teach students how to approach the ISEE so that when they take the exam, everything will look familiar and they will know how to approach the different types of questions.   Students will take a pre-test before the camp begins so that we can prepare materials (and break students into groups if necessary).  Students will end the week with a post test and all students will receive recommendations on what further study they should pursue to achieve the best scores possible on the ISEE.

Time 9 am - 3pm, M-F.  July 12-16.
Grades: Students preparing for Lower, Middle, and Upper ISEE (there is a great deal of material overlap and students will be divided into groups of content that is different between tests).
Class size: 6-10 students.
Fee
: $400 (scholarships available).

SAT Preparation

This class will cover all three sections of the SAT (writing, critical reading, mathematics).  It will focus on general test-taking strategies and SAT content material.  The focus of the class will be on SAT building blocks: strategies and practice for each type of question, vocabulary for all sections, and content focus on the easier questions on the test.  The course will also work in-depth on student’s SAT essays and topics that they can begin to think about so that they have examples developed for a range of possible essay topics.  The course is designed to give all students instruction and practice with the easy and medium questions on the exam.  By the end of the course, all students should easily achieve at least 500 on each section of the test.  This course is best suited for younger students just starting to prepare for SAT and PSAT and older students who are not yet scoring above 500 on each section of the SAT.  This class also has a significant amount of overlap with the Upper ISEE (although guessing strategies will vary from test to test).  All students will receive a basic SAT preparation book and an advanced SAT preparation book.

**** Please Note: there has been a schedule change for the SAT camp!****

Time: 9 am - 3pm, Monday-Friday.  August 9 –August 13.
Grades: 8th- 12th.
Class size: 6-10.
Fee
: $400 (scholarships available).

For many students, summer is a great time to brush up on skills or get ahead for the next school year.

If your students are struggling, summer is the perfect time to get extra help.  When students are free from school homework, they can spend more time and energy filling academic gaps and getting prepared for the new school year.

Whether you're looking for help with academic subjects or prep for tests (including ISEE, HSPT, and SAT), summer is great time to to get a head start!

EdBoost Summer tutoring hours are:
