ArtBoost!

This week-long camp will help you use your creative abilities to become a better artist. The first part of the class will cover the basics of drawing and how to draw what you see. We will practice drawing 3D figures, shading, drawing perspective, and more. After drawing in pencil, we will start the unit on paint and color. The class will cover how to mix and blend colors. The students will apply what they learned in drawing with a pencil to painting with a brush. The final part of the class will center of creating 3D figures through a variety of projects such as origami and sculpting. The camp will focus not only on various art techniques, but on bringing out students' creativity.

ScienceBoost! Magnets and Electricity

Do you wish that you got to do more science experiments in school?  Learn all about magnets and electricity in this weeklong, hands-on science camp.  Learn how magnets work (and build your own electro-magnet).  Learn how electricity moves, build your own circuit, and figure out how flashlights and other electric devices turn on and off.  Learn how batteries work, and build a huge lemon battery with your classmates.  Finally, learn how motors work and build your own simple motor by combining everything that you’ve learned about magnets, electromagnets, and electricity.  On the final day, we’ll take all of your new knowledge and help you learn how to apply that knowledge to make electronic devices work!

Time: 9:00 am–3:00 pm, M-F, August 16-August 20
Grades: 3rd-6th
Class size
: 6-10
Fee: $350 (scholarships available)

Summer Tutoring, Too! Enrollment Information
For many students, summer is a great time to brush up on skills or get ahead for the next school year.

If your students are  struggling, summer is the perfect time to get extra help.  When students are free from school homework, they can spend more time and energy filling academic gaps and getting prepared for the new school year.

Whether you're looking for help with academic subjects or prep for tests (including ISEE, HSPT, and SAT), summer is great time to to get a head start!

EdBoost Summer tutoring hours are:
Monday-Thursday
10am-5pm

Current students: If you're interested in tutoring, contact us
with your preferred times, days, subjects, and tutors.   Please note: all appointments are scheduled on a first come, first served basis.

New students: EdBoost offers both One-on-One Academic Tutoring and Test Preparation Tutoring during the summer.

Before they start tutoring at EdBoost, we'll ask students to come in and take a diagnostic exam. With that exam, we can  determine the student's tutoring needs.  Schedule assessments now so that we're ready to start tutoring as soon as summer begins!

Note: EdBoost will be closed June 26 - July 4, 2010.  Summer tutoring begins July 5, 2010.
We are now enrolling students for 2010 Summer Day Camps and for summer tutoring sessions.
