SOURCE trains smart, energetic college and graduate students to be informed college advisors.  SOURCE aims to help as many students as possible submit competitive applications to four-year colleges and universities. SOURCE strives to provide students with a wide range of "good fit" post-high school options by helping students research colleges, sign up for entrance exams, write application essays, fill out applications, fill out financial aid forms, apply for scholarships, and make good choices once they are accepted to schools.

The SOURCE program provides advisors with training, materials (including step-by-step worksheets to work through with students), and consistent online and in-person support.  These advisors then work individually with low-income high school students during a 15 month program, from spring of students' junior year in high school through high school graduation.

Our advisors provide information, encouragement, personal support, consistent reminders (e.g., a little friendly nagging), and an outside point of view to help keep students on track and help parents and students make good, informed decisions about the student's educational future.

The entire SOURCE Program, which includes SOURCE materials, on-line support, and consulting, is available to universities, outreach programs, and youth groups looking to increase college-going among low-income, under-represented, and first-generation college-going youth.

If we receive enough funding to relaunch SOURCE in 2008,  we will post recruitment announcements between December 2007 and January 2008.
